Description
Specifications No . 2475 , March 24 , 1949 . This photograph was taken as the floating caisson was being submerged in the spillway bucket during its initial trial operation . The caisson barge with operating equipment is shown floating between the caisson towers . In the foreground is the caisson "A" frame anchored to the spillway face , and in the background are the divers ' barge , the work barge , and the personnel skiff . This work is being performed by Pacific Bridge Company , as part of their contract for repair of the spillway of Grand Coulee Dam .
